Marri Adithya Reddy
Make Ambitions Reality
Committed towards education for all
Adithya believes that equitable access to quality education is vital to addressing the inequalities in our communities and closing persistent opportunity gaps. From early schooling through adulthood, an affordable, quality education system accessible to all residents will help reduce poverty and make room for more job opportunities.
Unfortunately, educational access and outcomes have long been neglected in our state — free education for all from KG to PG are among the many promises that haven’t been fulfilled by the current govt. Additionally, the fact that only six State universities have been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is very telling of the quality of higher education in the state. Many universities are not even recognised by UGC under section 12(B). In order to address the existing issues in our education system, Adithya feels the need to take a comprehensive approach to ensure that students at any level have the financial support, and out-of-school opportunities that empower them to learn.
The late Dr. Marri Channa Reddy envisioned the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology in 1979; an institute that has since gained multiple accreditations along with having received an autonomous status. In the hopes to further his legacy in educational reform, Adithya set up the Hyderabad Public School branch in Warangal. An educational institute that’s acclaimed for having had Satya Nadella and Shantanu Narayen as a part of its prestigious alumni along with Adithya himself, who is at present the Vice President of the alumni association, member of the core organising committee and on the board of governors.
Apart from working on educational expansion plans in rural districts, Adithya believes that we have the social responsibility to start educating children from a young age. He strongly believes in strengthening the roots for a brighter future and that potential solely lies in educating children and ensuring little girls go to school. As a member of the board at HPS, Adithya has also implemented the ‘good touch, bad touch’ program in schools that addresses the need to educate children about the difference in the hopes to put an end to child sexual abuse incidents. Additionally, Adithya is aiming at setting up career guidance programs at school levels starting from 10th grade itself, to encourage children to follow their dreams and guide them towards higher education as well as right profession.
